The People Behind the Lens

Founder & Lead Photographer

Marketing Director & Video Editor
Bob and Anandi met and married in the late 80's while serving in the US Air Force in Germany — he as a German linguist, and she as a Russian linguist. Since then their journey has led down many roads, one of which led them to Florida in '93, when Bob started his photography business and Anandi began her corporate career. Shortly after and as a result of 9-11 in 2001 (they were in NYC that day), Anandi transitioned from a corporate executive to co-owner of Thompson Studios with Bob, a retail photography studio that photographed hundreds of family portraits and weddings and thousands (literally) of high-school senior portraits during its tenure. Thompson Studios closed its doors in 2009 when the economy, combined with the advent of phone and digital cameras, overcame their previous success.
Since then, they rebranded into Thompson Brand Images and haven't looked back. Anandi learned the art of video editing, a huge contribution that enabled Thompson Brand Images to expand its offerings into the world of video production, rounding out the services that they offer today. Together, they are an imagery-producing powerhouse!
They are proud parents to Buddy, a special needs young man with Down Syndrome, who enjoys an independent lifestyle in Lakeland, but who also loves to perform with his Dad, who has moonlighted as a professional musician and singer since the 90s. Anandi has operated a yoga therapy studio on the side for the last 17+ years, has served as a nutritionist and health coach, and is a writer/author. She has written countless articles and authored a book about her experience of being a mother of Buddy, Eric's Gift — A Mother's Journey of Unconditional Love in the 37th Chromosome, excerpts of which appeared in two of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series of books.
When they're not making imagery for their clients, they enjoy travel, kayaking, biking, hiking, nature and pretty much anything outdoors.
